2022 MET Gala : SBC’s Top FAVORITE LOOKS

SBC's Favorite MET Gala Looks :

The first Monday in May, fashion's biggest night, the Met Gala. The "Gilded Age" theme was star-studded, fabulous, and everything of the sort. You can trust SBC was keeping up with all the latest looks to take the Met steps.

But first, let’s take it back to when the Met Gala first started, back in the 1940s, and the Met Gala was for the High New York Society. The event became a star-studded event when Diane Vreeland came into the scene in the 1970s and added themes for each year. The purpose behind the Met Gala was to fundraise for the costume institute, as a matter of fact, wwd.com tells us the Met, was not originally taken place at the Met, but in other locations in NYC.

Today, the Met Gala is still known as one of the biggest fundraisers in New York City, and we can certainly see why.

This is the one night a year where everyone and anyone gets together to admire art and fashion at its finest. We loved seeing everyone’s interpretation of this year's “Gilded Age” theme for the Met, here are just a few of our favorite looks!

Hailey Bieber in YSL:

Hailey Bieber (@haileybieber)

Designer : YSL (@ysl , @anthonyvaccarello)

Hailey Bieber truly is elegance and class, this one of a kind YSL gown created by Anthony Vaccarello will stand the test of time.

WINNIE HARLOW in iris van herpen

Winnie Harlow (@winnieharlow)
Designer : Iris Van Herpen (@irisvanherpen)
Stylist : Jason Rembert (@jasonrembert)

Winnie Harlow managed to jaw drop us all in this number by Iris Van Herpen, when I saw her emerge onto the red carpet, I knew I loved her look from head to toe, she looks like a swan princess, and we are HERE for it. She truly is a vision and knew how to make an entrance.

Blake Lively in Atelier Versace

Blake Lively (@blakelively)
Designer : Donatella Versace (@donatella_versace)

"Ladies and Gentlemen, her." Blake Lively or should I say "Lady Lively" certainly knew how to wow the crowd. The change from bronze to teal in a matter of moments was one of a kind. Her homage to Lady Liberty certainly did not disappoint. We have no doubt this will be a gown talked about in the years to come.

Joe jonas + Sophie turner in louis vuitton

Joe Jonas (@joejonas) and Sophie Turner (@sophiet)
Designer : Louis Vuitton (@louisvuitton)
Stylist : Sydney Lopez (@sydneylopez)

Parents' Night Out! Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner always know how to show up on the red carpet. I love the bridge between the Gilded age and edginess, Louis Vuitton certainly made their looks a moment.
